This is ideal country for walkers and cyclists, but it’s also a great location if you just want to base yourself somewhere quiet and peaceful to allow you to explore Cheshire and the Peak District.

The Shop Inn at Wincle – a great place for a friendly pint and some great food

The Ship Inn in Wincle is just a 10 minute walk away and serves lunches and evening meals.
The Hanging Gate in Sutton is just a few minutes’ drive away in the next village and offers great food.
Sutton Hall Great quality Brunning and Price pub with busy atmosphere, tasty food and a good selection of real ales.

Fishing

We have a rod on the River Dane which is a small river that has small, wild brown trout. Guests are welcome to use this facility if they have their own fly fishing gear.

The fish farm at Dane Bridge has an excellent fishing lake with some very large brown and rainbow trout.

Turners Pool in the next village of Swythamley is a great Carp fishing lake.
